Why We Must Stop the Coup

by Perry D Foster
There comes a point in everyone’s life when you have to admit that things have gone wrong. As individuals we need to do it to get ourselves back on track if we’ve gone astray, or if we’ve developed habits that threaten to destroy us. The same is true for nations and civilizations. If we don’t admit we have a problem we can’t solve it. In the western world we have to admit that there is a coup happening and that we need to defeat it. No Tanks and Gunfire, but… No. Tanks aren’t rolling down the streets of Toronto. Martial […]

Goodbye Netflix

by Perry D Foster
I’m going to cancel my Netflix subscription. To tell you the truth, Netflix wasn’t that great. A lot of its movies were old reruns from decades ago. Its dramatic series were often poorly directed, and the story lines were contrived and predictable. Like so many other platforms and streaming services these days, it towed the party line and pushed a liberal progressive LGBTQ narrative. In short, it was boring. There was the odd interesting documentary and series, but that wasn’t enough to justify a subscription. All of this, however, isn’t the reason I’m cancelling.  “Cuties” went too far The real […]

Why I Stopped Apologizing

by Perry D Foster
My father taught me to be polite. He believed in the importance of respect and brought me up with a code that had clear expectations. You opened doors for ladies. “Ladies first, son” he would always say. You treated older people with respect and never spoke to them as you would to your friends. The code was clear. It included apologizing when you did something wrong, or when you discovered that you had offended others. It meant that you gave others a chance to speak and respected their right to express their view. But all that has changed. I don’t […]

The Checklist is Killing Us

by Perry D Foster
There’s a liberal progressive “checklist” out there and it’s killing us. What do I mean by that? I mean that the far left is not just suggesting that we accept their ideas but bullying us into accepting them. They’ve got a checklist. Either you accept their ideas or you’re done. If you don’t you’ll suffer. And that could mean anything from being criminally charged for “hate speech” to fines, job loss, and public shaming that could end your life as you know it. Does that sound fair, or democratic? No? Well that’s because it’s not.  So What’s on the List? […]

Confessions of an Atheist Buddhist Communist

by Perry D Foster
When I was a child my father developed an interest in Buddhism. It was the late 60s, so it wasn’t so unusual. In those days you were regular society or counter culture. My father chose counter culture. So, for about a decade, I lived in my father’s world. It was, to say the least,  an unusual one. Along with Buddhism he decided to become a communist. As a result, I grew up as an ABC: an Atheist, Buddhist, Communist. What did that mean for me, and why am I now a dedicated conservative? Good question. To answer them we […]

How I Fell in Love With Canada

by Perry D Foster
When I was younger I didn’t care much for Canada. That sounds terrible, but let me explain. I love history and culture, in particular European culture. Compared to the “captains and kings,” and the grand empires and high civilizations of Europe, Canada’s history and culture seemed, well…dull. This was made worse by the fact that my countrymen didn’t seem too enthusiastic about their country either. There didn’t seem to be many reasons to be inspired by Canada, so I wasn’t. I concentrated on other nations and cultures, particularly Japan and Europe. What a mistake! The Turning Point  It wasn’t […]
