The Checklist is Killing Us

by Perry D Foster
There’s a liberal progressive “checklist” out there and it’s killing us. What do I mean by that? I mean that the far left is not just suggesting that we accept their ideas but bullying us into accepting them. They’ve got a checklist. Either you accept their ideas or you’re done. If you don’t you’ll suffer. And that could mean anything from being criminally charged for “hate speech” to fines, job loss, and public shaming that could end your life as you know it. Does that sound fair, or democratic? No? Well that’s because it’s not.  So What’s on the List? […]

Confessions of an Atheist Buddhist Communist

by Perry D Foster
When I was a child my father developed an interest in Buddhism. It was the late 60s, so it wasn’t so unusual. In those days you were regular society or counter culture. My father chose counter culture. So, for about a decade, I lived in my father’s world. It was, to say the least,  an unusual one. Along with Buddhism he decided to become a communist. As a result, I grew up as an ABC: an Atheist, Buddhist, Communist. What did that mean for me, and why am I now a dedicated conservative? Good question. To answer them we […]

How I Fell in Love With Canada

by Perry D Foster
When I was younger I didn’t care much for Canada. That sounds terrible, but let me explain. I love history and culture, in particular European culture. Compared to the “captains and kings,” and the grand empires and high civilizations of Europe, Canada’s history and culture seemed, well…dull. This was made worse by the fact that my countrymen didn’t seem too enthusiastic about their country either. There didn’t seem to be many reasons to be inspired by Canada, so I wasn’t. I concentrated on other nations and cultures, particularly Japan and Europe. What a mistake! The Turning Point  It wasn’t […]

One Size Fits All

by Perry D Foster
The other day I was outside a Mall in my home town of Duncan, B.C. From where I was standing I could see all the usual stores: a Staples, a Sports Chek, a Winners, and a Source. Suddenly I got the strangest feeling. I could have been anywhere. It didn’t have to be Duncan. It could have been Boise Idaho, Peoria Illinois, or Thunder Bay Ontario. Why? Because there wasn’t anything distinctive about what I was seeing. It was soulless. It didn’t have a personality. No culture, no grace, no charm no soul. It might as well have been […]

FDC Spring Update. A Word From Our Chairman

by Perry D Foster
Hello Freedom Defence Canada Supporters, We are going through very unusual times. The Covid 19 pandemic has turned our entire world upside down. We at FDC hope you are doing well and, rest assured, you are in our prayers. Like us, you are probably growing tired of social distancing. And, like us, you probably have the same concerns about what this pandemic is doing to our economy. Taxpayer money is being doled out indiscriminately, and is undoubtedly driving us further and further into debt at a time when many businesses have had to close.            But, beyond […]

The War on Reality

by Perry D Foster
We’ve reached a bizarre stage in our history. One might even say an evil one. Why? Because never before have we denied reality and opposed those who believe in it. Never, in the last five thousand years, since this experiment called “human civilization” began, have we been this crazy and bizarre. We are actually making war on reality. Coffee Cup or Chicken?  A few years ago I had a conversation with an ex professor of mine. He reminded me, in that condescending way so many others had, that there were no “facts.” I didn’t have to struggle for a degree […]
